Ecotone Academy respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, when it may be shared, and the choices available to you.
Members of Ecotone Academy are also covered by the privacy and confidentiality provisions of the Membership Agreement.
Information we collect
Information you provide
We collect information you choose to submit, such as your name, email address, birth data, narrative assessment responses, and information about personal-development practices. The Threshold Test intake may also include sensitive information you voluntarily provide about mental-health care, prescription medication, and prior hospitalization. If you make a contribution, the checkout provider may collect billing information under its own privacy policy.
Shape your book
After the Threshold Test, Shape your book asks for the questions you want your book to answer and, if you choose, facts about your life, such as relationships, children, work, home, health, losses and key dates. Beyond a few questions, everything is optional, and you never need to give anyone else’s name. Your answers are saved as you go, on your device and with us, and they are used only to prepare your Threshold book and to make sure a care concern reaches Telfer. You can ask us to delete your answers and your book at any time.
Assessment and browser information
The free Ecotone Assessment and Threshold Test may save draft answers, progress, completion status, and results in local storage on your device. This helps the experience remember where you left off. When you submit the Threshold Test, its intake responses, assessment answers, scores, and email address are stored by Ecotone Academy for review and follow-up. If you add birth details to the free Ecotone Assessment, your chart is calculated in your browser. Those details are sent to us only if you then ask for your Ecotone Reading, and they are stored with your request so the reading can include your planetary chapters. Birth-place search uses place data from GeoNames (geonames.org, CC BY 4.0). Our hosting and security providers may also process ordinary technical data such as an IP address, browser type, device information, timestamps, and request logs.
How we use information
- To provide, personalize, maintain, and improve the website and its assessments.
- To send information or follow-up material that you request.
- To manage memberships, contributions, waitlists, support questions, and other communications.
- To protect the site, prevent misuse, troubleshoot issues, and comply with law.
How information is shared
We may share information with service providers that help us host the site, store data, deliver communications, process contributions, help prepare your Ecotone Reading and Threshold book, or protect the service. They may use the information only to perform those services for us. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business transfer.
We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-site targeted advertising.

Local storage, cookies, and tracking
The site uses browser local storage to preserve assessment progress and results. You can remove this information through your browser settings, although doing so may reset your progress. We do not currently use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking, so the site does not respond separately to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
Retention and security
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including legal, accounting, security, and support needs. We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information you submitted, or opt out of non-essential email. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights. Send requests to hello@ecotone.academy. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Children’s privacy
Ecotone Academy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 submitted information, contact us so we can address it.
Third-party services
Links to checkout pages or other third-party services are governed by those services’ own terms and privacy policies. We encourage you to review them before providing information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top will show when the latest version took effect.
