Acceptance and eligibility

If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the site. You must be legally able to enter a membership agreement. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use the site only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

Educational and reflective use

Ecotone Academy provides educational and personal-development material. Its assessments, plans, guidance, community experiences, and other content are intended for reflection and learning. They are not medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or other licensed professional advice, and they do not create a clinician-patient or similar professional relationship.

The site is not an emergency or crisis service. If you are in danger or need urgent help, contact local emergency services or an appropriate qualified professional. The Threshold Test includes care questions, described under Safety and care questions below.

Assessments and results

Assessment results are interpretive tools, not diagnoses, guarantees, or predictions. Results depend on the information you provide and should be considered alongside your own judgment and, when appropriate, advice from a qualified professional. You remain responsible for your choices and actions.

Your free Ecotone Reading and your Threshold book are woven together with the help of AI, from your answers and Telfer’s own source material. Your Threshold map is generated by the site from your scores. See the “How we use AI” section below.

Contributions, access and refunds

Contribution amounts, availability, and offering details are shown with each offering and may change. Contributions may be handled by a third-party checkout provider. Any specific contribution, dues, cancellation, return, scheduling, or guarantee terms presented at checkout or with the offering are part of these terms and control for that offering. Contributions are regarded as dues for membership in a private association, as described in the Membership Agreement.

Refunds. All contributions are final and non-refundable. We hold up our end: if something on our side falls short, such as a session we cannot hold, we will make it right by rescheduling, extending your access or offering something of equal value. If illness, a family emergency, hardship or another serious circumstance keeps you from using what you contributed for, write to us and we will look for a fair arrangement in good faith. Sessions and recordings

1:1 sessions are recorded and transcribed on Zoom with your consent, to write your plan and notes. You can say no at any time and we will take written notes instead. See the Membership Agreement.

How we use AI

We use AI to weave together your free Ecotone Reading and your Threshold book from your answers and from Telfer’s own source material: his templates, teachings and writing. AI also helps Telfer draft session notes, which he reviews. AI never scores your Threshold Test, responds to a care flag or makes decisions about you. Safety and care questions

The Threshold Test includes two care questions. If an answer suggests you may be at risk, you will see crisis resources right away and Telfer is alerted by email. This alert is not an emergency service: if you need help now, call 911 or call or text 988.

Intellectual property

The site and its text, assessments, illustrations, branding, design, downloads, and other materials are owned by Ecotone Academy or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use them for your personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, sell, publish, distribute, modify, scrape, or create derivative works from them without written permission.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Break the law, infringe another person’s rights, or submit harmful or deceptive material.
• Interfere with the site, bypass security, introduce malicious code, or attempt unauthorized access.
• Use automated methods to extract content or overload the service.
• Impersonate another person or misuse community, contact, or support features.

Third-party links and services

The site may link to services we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, availability, security, or practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.

Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, the site and services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free content, a particular result, or that every part of the service will always remain available.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Ecotone Academy and its owners, personnel, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities arising from use of the site or services. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be limited.

Changes, suspension, and termination

We may update the site, services, or these terms, and may suspend access when reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, misuse, or legal compliance. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

General terms

Applicable law governs these terms. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These terms, together with any terms shown for a specific offering, form the agreement between you and Ecotone Academy regarding the site and services.
